Rules & Regulation for Traditional Games

Rules for Angry Bird Game
1. Total participants are TEN persons for each university.
2. FOUR persons will hold one kain batik and stand on plastic pieces that have been spread out. There will be two pieces of plastics spread out for each team.
3. ONE person will throw one balloon towards first kain batik and one person will catch the balloon at the
end. Participants cannot change their positions throughout the game.
4. Participants holding kain batik must assure that stay standing on the plastic throughout the game and all
participants must be BAREFOOTED.
5. All participants that holding kain batik will throw and catch the balloon using the kain batik.
6. If the balloon falls onto the ground or participants stand out of the plastic, the team should play from the
start.
7. Total time of the game is 5 minutes.
8. The team who has the highest number of intact balloons wins.


Rules for Tarik Upih Game
1. One person sits on the upih, while another person will be pulling the upih.
2. The person sitting on the upih must stay throughout the game (CANNOT change player), while the person pulling the upih changes throughout the games.
3. Total participants would be SEVEN, one would be sitting on the upih, another six (pullers) would be divided into two groups, three people and another three people are standing side by side.
4. The person sitting on the upih must assure that the whole body sits on the upih.
5. Total game time would be around 10-15 minutes.
6. The team who is fastest to finish the game wins.

Rules for Boling Kelapa Game
1. Each team will be represented by FIVE members.
2. The participant from each team will play at the same time.
3. The participant needs to cross their hands and hold their nose then spin around five times.
4. The participant needs to throw the coconut towards the bottles and knock them down.
5. Each team is allowed to throw five times, each participant can throw ONCE.
6. The total of bottles that had been knocked down will be sum up.
7. The bottles which only being knocked down by the coconut that the participant throws will be counted. The bottles that knocked down by other interference or causes are INVALID.
8. The team with the highest total number of bottles knocked down will be the winner.
9. Duration of the game will be around 15 minutes.

Rules for Lari Ikat Kaki Game
1. Each university must send NINE participants and they will be divided into THREE groups. Each group must have THREE persons.
2. Feet of participants in each group must be tied together with piece of clothes that are provided by committee.
3. Once whistle is blown, the first group in each team will walk or run by a predetermined distance and they must make one complete turn at the cone before return back to the starting point.
4. After the first group reach back at the starting point, the game will be continuing by the second and third group of their team.
5. Once the last group of the team reaches the starting point, ONE of the members of the last group must blow a balloon until it burst to indicate that they are finish. Note that only the members from the LAST GROUP can blow the balloon.
6. The balloon which burst first will be considered as a winner.
7. A gentle reminder: Team who do not follow the rules of the game will be automatically disqualified.
8. Duration of games will be around 10 minutes.

Rules for Tarik Tali Game
1. Each university must send EIGHT participants.
2. The game will use the knockout format.
3. The team that win in the first round will enter the second round.
4. The team that win in the second round will proceed to semi final.
5. Two team will enter the final round and the final winner will be determined.
6. If there is a tie, we will have the third game to determine the final winner.
7. Duration of the game will be around 20-25 minutes.


PLAN B (if the weather is not good)

Rules for Lari Dalam Guni Game (back up for Tarik Upih)
1. ONE person at one time must get into the guni, and run as fast as possible.
2. As one player finishes his turn, another will take turn.
3. The players must assure that HALF of their body fits into the guni.
4. The total number of participants are SIX people altogether from each team.
5. Total game time would be around 10-15 minutes.
6. The team who is fastest to finish the game wins.

Rules for Galah Panjang Game (back up for Angry Bird)
1. Each university must send SIX participants.
2. The game will use the KNOCKOUT format.
3. The team that win in the first round will enter the second round.
4. The team that win in the second round will proceed to semi final.
5. Two teams will enter the final round and the final winner will be determined.
6. The team with the highest point will be the winner.

7. The duration of this game will be around 20-25 minutes.

Rules & Regulations

Games
1. The number of participants is limited to only 80 persons per pharmacy school team (72 players+ 8 supporters). 
2. Each player must be healthy and does not have any health problem.
      3. One player is eligible to play one modern game ONLY since all modern games will be started at the same time at different venues
      4.  Players of modern games can also participate in tracks and traditional games.
      5. For tracks and traditional games, supporters can be the players.
      6. Any player who fail to abide by any of the rules, he/she will be immediately disqualified, or if he/she has already participated in the game, the result of the game for that particular person would be invalid.
      7. The venue for most of the games is at IIUM Sports Complex.IIUM Sports Complex  consists of an indoor sports complex, an outdoor courts, a swimming pool & a stadium. Multipurpose classrooms will be used as operation room by the paramedic team, which may include a medical officer. There are also changing rooms, bathrooms, musolla& cafeteria at the Sports Complex.
      8. If the weather is raining, the organizer will switch to plan B.The game will be run indoor except tennis & takraw(need to wait until the rain stops or up to considerations of committee).

    10.  Outdoor courts:
a)      Futsal
b)      Netball

     11.   IIUM Stadium: Football Field and Athletic Tracks
     12.  Athletic and Traditional games will be conducted at IIUM Stadium.
     13.  Gold system is used to determine overall champion. The pharmacy school with the most gold medals wins (the same system is used by previous NPSC organizers).


NPSC 2014 RULES & REGULATIONS
General Rules
1.      Good sportsmanship must be practiced by all players.
2.      Observe the separation between males and females while playing or watching the games to prevent unwanted incidence.
3.      Wear appropriate attire & Muslims must cover the aurah (refer attire guidelines below).
4.      All players, committees and supporters must respect each other.
5.      Contingent leaders (Chief mission) and captains are responsible for the manners and behaviors of their teammates.
6.      No inappropriate behaviors (dating, smoking, insulting) during the tournament.
7.      Each player must be a registered pharmacy student of the respective university. Matric card and identification card verification will be done during registration. If there is any act of cheating found, the guilty player will be banned from playing the game.
8.      Lecturers are strictly not allowed to be the players. Post-graduate students are allowed. Players must be a member of their university’s pharmacy society that they represent and still studying in the respective university.
9.      The managers and captains of each university must make sure that their teammates obey the general rules and regulations.
10.  The referee’s decision on all matters is final and no appeal will be entertained.
11.  The organizers will not be responsible for any damage or loss of belongings due to player’s carelessness.

Attire Guidelines

            Female
ü  Muslim: Wear t-shirt with inner garments or any means that cover the aurah
ü  Non- Muslim: Proper attire (miniskirts, shorts and tight-fitting pants are not allowed).
Male
ü  Muslim: Wear tight for shorts that end above knee or any means that cover aurah
ü  Non-Muslim: Proper attire
Muslims
ü  Female aurah  : all body parts except face & palms
ü  Male aurah     : from navel to knee

Games Rules:

1.      One player is eligible to play one modern game ONLY.
2.      Each player must be healthy and does not have any health problems.
3.      No pharmacy school is allowed to send two or more teams per game.
4.      Players must bring their sports equipment such as shoes, rackets, and ping pong paddles.
5.      All players must wear sports attire during the game. Each team must wear their team standardized jersey.
6.      Wear appropriate attire according to the guidelines given. Muslims must cover their aurah.
7.      Islamic environment of IIUM should be preserved.
8.      Players must arrive at the court 10 minutes before the start of the game.
9.      All players must register themselves before the tournament and the player must be a registered pharmacy student at respective universities. Organizer has the right to disqualify any player who fails to abide by this rule.
10.  Player’s arrival that is more than 10 minutes late to the venue of the game will be considered as lose and free win will be given to the opponent.
11.  Referee’s decision is final.Players are advised to avoid any misconduct during the match. The referee has the right to disqualify the player in case of player’s misconduct.
12.  Any technical difficulties will be resolved only by the organizing board.
13.  Organizer has the rights to alter the rules if necessary.
14.  The use of drugs in sports will not be tolerated and will be handled to authorized bodies.



Any amendments of the rules and regulations are within the sole discretion of the organizer and the organizer’s decisions are final.
