About NPSC

INTRODUCTION

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, salawat to our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and his Companions. We are grateful for giving us the opportunity to organize and coordinate one of the most anticipated events in IIUM.

National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) is an annual event for Pharmacy students in Malaysia that liaises with MyPSA which will involve students from various pharmacy schools in Malaysia. Many universities had taken turn to host this event since it was established, including IIUM during the fifth NPSC in 2012. For the year 2014, IIUM will again proudly be the host for the seventh NPSC.

The aim for this event is to create a platform for the pharmacy students to show their talents in sports beside to compete with each other among different universities to be the champion. This event is one of the most highly anticipated events for pharmacy students as this is a stage promote camaraderie and friendship while aiming to become champions.

Furthermore, this is parallel with Islamic commandments that tell us to be healthy just like Arabic saying “Al AqluSalim Fi JismiSalim”. It implies that with a healthy body there comes a great mind. As to be a competent and efficient pharmacist, one should take a healthy lifestyle as a way of life in order to serve the community and the country.

OBJECTIVES

Ø  To develop energetic pharmacy students who excel in both sports and academic performance.

Ø  To establish Islamic culture in sports activities and uphold the sunnah of Rasulullah in being a healthy individual.

Ø  To create an excellent networking with pharmacy students in other universities for the improvement of IPhA.

Ø  To strengthen the brotherhood among Pharmacy Students of IIUM and members of the society.

Ø To form an environment of teamwork, responsibility and understanding among committees.
